STRESS: In a medical or biological context stress is a physical, mental, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension. Stresses can be external (environment, psychological, or social situations) or internal (illness, or from a medical procedure). Stress can initiate the “fight or flight” response, a complex reaction of neurologic and endocrinologic systems.  Stress can cause or influence the course of many medical conditions including psychological conditions such as depression and anxiety.  Medical problems can include poor healing, irritable bowel syndrome, high blood pressure, diabetes and many other conditions.

Stress management is recognized as an effective treatment modality. In this unique and fun workshop, we will accomplish the below objectives:

1.    Review how stress impacts our physical, emotional & social well being,

2.  Identify symptoms of stress and/or burnout,

3.   Recognize how stress or burnout impacts our ability to provide treatment or service to our clients and relationships with colleagues, friends and family.

4.   Practice stress reduction through floral arranging.

Under the direction of a talented, seasoned, professional floral designer, you will enjoy your sip of coffee, tea or your morning drink of choice while you learn about stress management, and arrange a lovely floral arrangement with lovely greenery and related activity products while in your home.

You will complete the workshop with your optional creation (retail value of approximately $80.00) while enjoying a great ‘stress-reducing technique’ to practice in the future AND gain CEU’s approved by the NASW-PA Chapter.

This workshop is presented in support of an end to child abuse and a % of proceeds will be donated to the charity by founder, Ms. Grube. This PA 501-c-3 is named F.A.C.E.S. Faith, Accountability, Community, Education and Services.  Go to www.f-a-c-e-s.org for more information.
